What Happens During a Root Canal?
The very first thing our team will do before your root canal is numb your mouth so that you don’t feel any outright pain during (or after) the procedure. A small opening is made into the tooth’s inner chamber, and the damaged/infected portion of the pulp is carefully removed. A special material called gutta percha can be used to fill in the tooth, and it’s then sanitized and sealed back up before being fitted with a dental crown to protect it from future harm. Despite their reputation, root canals are a fairly quick, straightforward, and pain-free process!
